Alka OH- (AlkaHydroxy®)
Use:
ALKA OH- (AlkaHydroxy®) is a patented liquid silica concentrate, highly alkaline to help offset acidity in the body.
Each 5ml Contains:
100% Proprietary blend of modified liquid Silica.
Serve Suggestion:
Adults :4 drops in 250ml of water 3 times a day
Children under 10 years : 2 drops in 250ml of water 3 times a day
This mineral additive to water has an alkalizing action on pH balance, due to its
unique elemental and electro-chemical properties. The constituent sodium silicates
regulates redox (oxidation-reduction) processes of biological molecules through
different free radical species of oxygen and nitrogen.
Free Radicals and the resultant oxidative stress on an organism have been investigated
for decades. It has been demonstrated that the buildup of oxidized species occurs after
the concentration of reaction products supercedes that at which the cell’s natural
antioxidant system can effectively neutralize the radical or oxidized product.
ALKA OH- concentrate has a 13.7pH and when added to water effectively increases the amount of negatively charged hydroxyl ions present, producing an alkaline solution and inducing an antioxidant effect in the water.

Commentary:
Traditional Herbal Deodoriser
Preamble: Chlorophyll has been used traditionally to help cleanse and deodorise.
How is Chlorophyll extracted from plants?
Chlorophyll is mainly used in liquid form. It is the result of a careful extraction of the green pigment through the processing of green plants, particularly alfalfa leaves. The process first removes all the waxes and fats found within the cells of the leaves, and then breaks down the fine membranes of the chlorophyll-containing cells.
Why do we need Chlorophyll as a supplement?
When Chlorophyll is taken in the form of vegetables and plants, it is not free from the encased walls of the vegetable cells, but is surrounded by fatty substances. Consequently it is only partially absorbed by the villi in the small intestine during the process of digestion. Poor chewing of food and the absence of sufficient digestive juices in the stomach and small intestine also limit chlorophyll absorption from vegetables.
The discovery of Chlorophyll and it’s use for health.
In 1913, German chemist, Dr. Richard Willstatter, observed that: ‘The Chlorophyll molecule bears a striking resemblance to haemoglobin; the red pigment in human blood. The red blood pigment is a web of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen atoms grouped around a single atom of iron. Natures green pigment is a similar web of the same atoms, except that its centre piece is a single atom of magnesium.’
This discovery stimulated the imagination of other scientists to determine if Chlorophyll, so closely related to the structure of haemoglobin, had any possible medical uses. Emile Burgi or Berne, Switzerland, established sound therapeutic values for Chlorophyll as a result of his research.
In 1950 Dr. F. Howard Westcott reported that when Chlorophyll is taken internally in adequate quantities, it reduces or eliminates offensive body and breath odours.
It assists in emptying and deodorising the bowel.
Chlorophyll in liquid form can be used for:
Body odours - breath, bowels, urine, underarm, foot.
Excessive perspiration to help reduce body odour.
As a bowel cleanser and to help reduce flatulence and bad breath.

NPM Cell Minerals Historical Overview
The clinical use of mineral salts was explored by Paracelsus and Samuel Hahnemann and developed into a system of medicine by the German homeopath Dr. William Schuessler, who published articles on the subject in 1873. Schuessler claimed his method to be a distinct ‘system of cure’, which worked according to a chemico-physiological principle and was based on the investigations of the mineral ash that remains after a human body is burnt, and the concentrations of different minerals in the various organs and parts of the body (1).
Schuessler’s biochemic system of medicine was built on 12 mineral salts built of a cation/anion pair.
These Included:
Calcium Phosphate
Calcium Fluoride
Calcium Sulphate
Potassium Phosphate
Potassium Sulphate
Potassium Chloride
Sodium Phosphate
Sodium Sulphate
Sodium Chloride
Magnesium Phosphate
Silica (Silicon Dioxide)
Iron Phosphate
Schuessler prescribed his mineral salts in a 6x homoeopathic potency. Since Schuessler’s time, modern agricultural practices have caused our soils to become mineral deficient and mineral deficiency signs and symptoms are commonly seen in clinical patients¹. This is why many practitioners today prefer to use the minerals in pharmacological (mg) dosages, rather than the minute homeopathic dose that Schuessler used. For this reason also, sodium chloride has been removed from the mineral group, leaving only 11 minerals, since sodium chloride (common table salt) interferes with the osmotic process and may cause hypertension.²
How To Use Minerals
Chronic Conditions
For chronic prescriptions usually 4-6 individual minerals are used at the dose of 1 tablet three times a day. It is recommended that a sodium salt, either Sodium Phosphate or Sodium Sulphate be included in chronic prescriptions to increase the bioavailabilty of the other minerals.
Acute Conditions
The minerals can be used frequently in acute conditions. Usually one or two individual minerals are prescribed together, but up to four may be used in acute situations. They can be taken once every 15 minutes - 2 hours, depending on the condition. In all acute conditions the patient should be reassured after 24-48 hours. When taking the mineral in acute doses, it is best to chew them with a sip of water to aid rapid absorption.
Children
The minerals are ideal for children to take and can be crushed and mixed with food or drink. It is easiest to soak them in a little water to soften and then crush them into a paste. Young’s rule can be used to decide the dose depending on the age of the child.
Young’s Rule: (Age/(Age+ 12)) x Adult dose
E.g. for a 6 year old: (6 / (6 + 12)) x Adult dose
(6 + 18) x Adult dose
1/3 x Adult dose in a chronic condition, 1 tablet per day.

Commentary:
This is a well used combination as these two minerals often work together in the body to have similar actions. Both are important in bone mineralisation and equally as useful for breakdown of calcified deposits in soft tissue. They are both important as connective and elastic tissue strengtheners.
It is scientifically recognised that silica plays a role in stimulating growth, initiating calcification of bone and promoting the synthesis of connective tissue. The function of silica is primarily structural and it acts primarily as a cross-linking agent in connective tissue, aiding the stability and rigidity of tissue¹. Silica regulates tissue hardness and breaks up any hardened or compacted tissue as appropriate³, especially where the tissue has calcified.
Calcium fluoride has a great influence on the elastic fibres of the connective tissue, and when it is lacking the connective tissue seems to lose its elasticity, Fluoride stimulates osteoblastic activity, prompting the formation of new bone, appears to stimulate fibroblastic activity, for enamel as crystals of fluorapatite replace the crystals of hydroxyapatite normally deposited in the enamel during tooth formation. Fluorapatite in tooth enamel is virtually insoluble in acid, and therefore more resistant to caries.
The same happens in bone, where fluorapatite contributes markedly to the hardness and strength of bone¹. Calcium Fluoride also seems to have the same regulating action as silica in breaking down hardened deposits in soft tissue and increasing flexibility of connective tissue.
Please note that Calcium Fluoride is absorbed as a whole molecule and is likely to exist in plasma undissociated and may be deposited into fluorapatite crystals as a whole molecule. Due to this insolubility, Calcium Fluoride is considerably safer, even at much greater concentrations than Sodium Fluoride, where there is uncontrolled absorption of the free fluoride ions¹.

Commentary:
Magnesium Phosphate allows the muscles to relax by regulating secretion of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine at the myoneural junction, by functioning as acalcium antagonist and enzyme activator.¹ Magnesium acts as a stabilizer of nerve function by increasing the threshold of nerve membrane depolarisation¹, therefore reducing excessive firing of the nerves.
Magnesium acts as a stabilizer of nerve functions, with research indicating that both intracellular and extracellular magnesium losses are implicated in myocardial lesions of diverse aetiology.¹

Commentary:
Potassium Phosphate is well known as the chief constituent of the grey nerve fibres in the brain, and without it no nerve cells can be formed.² Potassium Phosphate promotes nerve impulses³ and the proper balance of Potassium both inside and outside the cell is necessary for the maintenance of the nerve cell resting potential.
Thus, deficiency signs and symptoms vary according to where the deficiency is in relation to the cell.
A fall in Potassium levels outside the cell will result in fatigue, lack of response to

Commentary:
This mineral is also considered to be the cell oxygenator. It assists iron to transfer oxygen across the cell membrane and is involved in the utilisation of oxygen in the breakdown of complex pathogenic wastes into simpler forms for elimination.³
Potassium Sulphate is involved in oxidative phosphorylation in the cytochromes of the mitochondria of the cell and a deficiency results in poor oxygen utilisation by the enzyme system and thus a craving for fresh air to increase oxygen concentration at the cellular level.¹
Potassium Sulphate is also the remedy for dry flaky skin, being involved in the adhesion of cells to each other. A deficiency of Potassium Sulphate will result in poor cellular adhesion and mucoprotein exudations, with epithelial and mucous membranes exhibiting scaling, exudation and desquamation.¹
When other minerals have failed to resolve the problem.

It is now scientifically recognized that Silica plays a role in stimulating growth, initiating calcification of bones, and promoting the synthesis of connective tissue.
Silica is found primarily in connective tissue, with particularly high concentrations in cartilage, ligament, skin, hair and nails. This function of Silica is primarily structural and it acts as a cross-linking agent in connective tissue.¹.
Silica is considered to be a calcium organiser, placing calcium where it is needed in the body, and breaking down calcifications in soft tissues. For some time it has been observed that new bone crystals will not form, until a trigger occurs, and it now appears that Silica provides the seed crystal that Calcium Phosphate builds upon.¹.
